A Stressless Settlement Welcomed by Both Parties

Nicholas Pastro

We acted for a gentleman upon the breakdown of his de-facto relationship with his partner after a period of 7 years.

Our client had accrued significant superannuation entitlements prior to his relationship commencing and his entitlement was held in a defined benefit scheme which he did not wish to disrupt.

We negotiated the terms of settlement whereby our client offset part of his cash settlement in order to retain his entire superannuation entitlements. His partner was also content as his enhanced cash settlement enabled him to get back into the property market without delay.

In this situation we were able to efficiently come up with an arrangement that satisfied both parties, resulting in less stress and lower costs for our client while still providing a great outcome.
